Tube heads rejoice - the Komuro K300S has arrived at Fern & Roby and is ready to knock your hi-fi socks off!
We’ve seen a lot of amps, and we’ve listened to a lot of amps, but literally no one makes amps like Nori Komuro. They’re incredibly special and rare – which is why John DeVore founded Komuro Amplifier Company in 2020 to collaborate with Nori and make the legendary vacuum tube amplifiers more accessible to audiophiles everywhere.
We'll just quote John here, because he's getting straight to the point:
“I believe he is the greatest living tube amp designer and I’m not alone in this belief. His circuit is unique and brilliant. His amps are extremely stable and reliable without a single capacitor in the signal path. The amps are direct-coupled from the input jack to the output transformer, nothing but wire and tubes for the signal to pass through. This gives them a transparency, directness, and immediacy that I haven’t heard in any other amp.”
But this amp is personal for us.
As part of his approach to designing the K300S, John leaned on Fern & Roby’s parent firm Tektonics Design Group for mechanical detailing support as well as manufacturing of the chassis. We were excited to collaborate and support John on a new project, having already had experience developing bronze speaker driver baskets for the DeVore O/Ref speakers (you can check out John talking about that project over on Youtube).

They’re are all hand-built in Brooklyn by John and his team, using point-to-point construction
The signal and power supply travel only through the circuit components and custom wire to ensure Single Ended Triode perfection
Unique chassis materials and construction keep the tubes and circuit isolated from the seven transformers and chokes, preventing vibration from affecting the musical signal
The K300s will perform superbly with any great high-efficiency speakers rated to run on 7wpc but for one of the best experiences we recommend the DeVore Fidelity O/Bronze speakers
