It’s really quite simple. We have taken everything we learned from designing our flagship turntable, The Tredegar, and baked it into The Montrose tables. Besides giving it new user interface features like the exposed bubble level and leveling feet (making the table extremely easy to setup), the tonearm overhang adjustment has been integrated into the armboard for easy and refined calibration of tonearm/cartridge alignment. We have also incorporated a tonearm cable management/relief clip on the back of the deck. The Montrose is entirely and easily adjustable with only two simple hex wrenches (provided with the table), and every part of this is modular and easily replaceable. The rugged and simple design of the Montrose is intended to make it an appealing and easy table to have for the rest of your life.
Each table comes with complete and easy-to-understand instructions, along with recommendations for an affordable kit of tools to get the most out of your rig.
A central feature of The Montrose Turntable is the Unipivot tonearm, which comes standard with this deck—we feel that a great affordable turntable should come with a world-class arm, so we designed and now make our own. A fully adjustable tonearm is a critical part of a hi-fidelity analog experience. Anyone who has spent time working with turntables knows that not all tonearms are easy and straightforward to calibrate. We have spent three years learning what it takes to get the most out of a great analog system, and our design is intended to make this an accessible experience for everyone.
We are also proud to offer the option of a Schröder CB tonearm by Thrax, with an ebony or carbon fiber arm wand. More information and pricing upon request
We offer a range of great cartridges that pair well with our tables.
The Denon DL-103R, a classic moving coil component cartridge that is an excellent entry point into hi-fidelity.

Also, the Hana SL, a new line from Japan, uses high rigidity aluminum cantilevers, and cross-shaped armatures, providing you with brilliant and gorgeous sound. Hana cartridges are produced by Excel Sound Corporation of Tokyo Japan, a long time OEM cartridge producer.

Using reclaimed or responsibly sourced materials is important to us here, whether it is for our furniture, our prints and totes, or our audio. The Montrose table is made from a material called Richlite. Made from compressed recycled paper amd resin, and borne of responsible manufacturing, it also has amazing tactile qualities—it feels like the silky smooth lab surfaces in high school chem class. While we have used it in architectural fabrication applications for years, it also has inert sonic properties and great machinability.
For secondary materials we selected high-grade stainless steel and brass, as well as the dynamically balanced solid bronze platter. A stunningly scultptural counterpoint to the Richlite, our bronze platter has a high recycled content, which is in line with the spirit of Fern & Roby. The truth and honesty of materials is what this table is all about.

The Montrose has the same great bearing, motor control, and user interface of the Tredegar. Without compromising on the principles of a fantastic reference grade table and arm, we have made a great turntable that is within reach of a large audience, making our goal to deliver a relevant reference-grade table to a lot more people possible.
