Screwcutting Greeting Cards

Our cards feature an amazingly detailed screw-cutting illustration that we found in a vintage machinist's guide and updated with a pop of color.

It's a composite of multiple external screw cuts and involves several different types of threading, which were crucial for a machinist to master.

Publications like Rogers Machinists' Guide were illustrated manuals that explained modern machine shop practices, and were essential to developing and standardizing American industry and manufacturing in the modern era. Being a skilled machinist required a fluency in geometry and trigonometry, as well as deep knowledge of materials and process.
